I can’t wait to dive deep into this book with you guys! It was so well written and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. You can read the full summary here, on Amazon.

Summary
The book opens up with the main character Megan, aka Red. She is in a rock climbing accident that sets her on a path home, and to her dark past. This book is a mix of phantom of the opera, the ballet Gisselle and Coppelia.
Red meets Bellamy, a strange man who lives underneath the theatre. She is equally scared but attracted to him. Bellamy cohereses Red into joining the Corps de Ballet, while a string of murders are happening. Young men at the theater are being murdered and the corps is starting to look more like the ghostly figures from Gisselle.
It’s a race against time to solve the murders and learn the truth about her parents dark past.
Character
The character’s in this story we’re written with a beautifully complex backstory and character growth throughout the book.
Red, the main character, went through a huge change. In the beginning, she was pushing her emotions deep down and ignoring everything in the world. She was focused only on her own success.
And so what if you fail? We need to feel heartache. We need to know the darkness, so we can learn compassion. So we can know what it is to really live.
The Redpoint Crux By Morgan Shamy
By the end of the story, she was able to recognize and work on changing her selfish behavior. She was written with such depth that I could easily see who she was.
Morgan also thrived in writing the secondary characters stories. She wasn’t afraid to spend time fleshing out their character and because of this the whole book was spectacular. The attraction between Bellamy and Red was palpable. I enjoyed every moment between them.
You had to have meant it. There’s something real between us, Bellamy. Can’t you feel it? I can’t get you out of my head. You’re like… this tune that’s stuck in my mind. A route on the wall or… or choreography that I replay over and over again.

Setting
Just like Morgan was able to write complex characters, she really thrived in writing the setting for this book.
I could see the dark, gloomy corners, the overgrown weeds peeking through cement, the build up of trash, and the creeping fog. She created a haunting backdrop, that meshed perfectly with the plot.
There was no confusion with where the characters were at. Everything was laid out in a way that made sense and you could just see the spooky theater.
Along the backside of the theater, a small road sat quietly, tucked into the shadows of the city. Small shops lined in rows, squeezed together with narrow alleys in between. Boards covered the windows. Dried flowers hung from upper story balconies. The only light was a sliver of moon slipping through the clouds, the streetlamps having burnt out a long time ago.

Plot
I don’t even know what to write for the plot without giving it away. Everything was laid out perfectly, and right when you think you knew who the killer was, it completely changed.
Every detail was exquisite and well written. The plot had so many twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and did not expect the ending at all.
You never know what people’s true intentions are, Megan. Some may seem horrific on the outside, but truly mean well on the inside. Others may put on the perfect act, but are only seeking their own gain. It’s why we all must learn to step outside ourselves and truly see life from another’s point of view. Give people a chance to prove themselves before making a judgment.
